Great Dinner at Boxty’s Tonight
Boxty is an upscale irish dining establishment that had some of the most friendly folks we’ve met yet – not hard to meet friendly folks in Ireland. Sara ordered the Salmon and I ordered the Hake with Gnocchi. The Salmon was prepared perfectly with ingredient like goat cheese and sweet potatoes that we would not have though tot before. The Hake was on a bed of gnocchi served with the skin side up – when you removed the skin, it was clear that the skin was like a lid – holding in the heat of the plate – steam came up with a fantastic smell. A wonderful meal – we expected to be small, short and quick – turned in to a long enjoyable time. With “Mike” taking great care of us and offering his advice in where to go in Dublin while visiting. Even told us where to find great music without the “hipster” influence… Looking forward to his recommendations.
Sara and I were very tired from the long day down towards Wicklow and Kilkenny – but went out for a quick meal before turing in. We came upon a small, packed, restaurant that we had read a bit about before. We were able to get a seat at the bar for our dinner – best meal we have had to-date.
We may be going back there for our anniversary dinner on the 11th…
